Hoji Fortuna

An actor born and raised in Angola (southwest Africa), Hoji moved to New York in 2008 to pursue a career in acting. He has since been working both in film, TV and theatre in the U.S., Europe and Africa.Hoji is an African-Oscar winner for his performance as César in international crime-drama 'Viva Riva!' (official selection at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival and 2011 Berlinale, Best African Film at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards).He started his acting career as a comedy actor in Portugal working mainly in TV.In addition to 'Viva Riva!' he performed in 'Meanwhile' from acclaimed indie director Hal Hartley, ABC TV series Pan Am, 'Afronauts' and Brooklyn-based drama 'In The Morning', among other projects.Hoji is also the author of New York for Actors, a e-manual for new and spiring actors wanting to develop their careers in the United States.His diverse and unique cultural background together with his fluency in various languages and a suave and distinguished classic demeanor make him an actor with a remarkable performing signature.
