Born in north wales 1978, JD grew up in Manchester, his father a builder and his mother an artist. His grandfather Felix Roth, a member of the Magic Circle, an officer in the British army and a dentist, became a great inspiration to him along with his great aunt, Dorothy Round Little, the 1930's tennis ace and Wimbledon Champion. He worked as a builder and a stage hand in the theatres for more than 10 years where his taste for acting grew as he attended private acting tuition. Unhappy with his career choices, JD decided to follow his passion, pursuing an acting career in London and soon becoming a special action sword fighter on such films as 'Snow White and The Huntsman'. A serious actor, JD follows the creative path of an artist, writing scripts and practicing his techniques, such as Strasberg and Chubbuck, with a career goal to one day play a main 'BOND' bad guy. Recently he starred as the lead in a TV pilot '2024' and directed a few interesting short films. His unusual first name is a 'nod' to the 1950's screen legend James Dean.
