He also spent five years teaching acting and playwriting in Harlem.Rogers received an MFA from the Yale School of Drama shortly before being cast in The Mosquito Coast as Francis Lungley, a local man who befriends Allie (played by Harrison Ford). Michael Rogers is a founding member of La Compagnia De' Colombari and has appeared in seven productions for Theatre for a New Audience. He has also appeared on Broadway in August Wilson's play Joe Turner's Come and Gone. Rogers is story editor for Soho Films US.
