Born in Chicago and raised in Los Angeles, Sam Ingraffia graduated from Notre Dame High School with honors and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.A strong believer in the importance of education, Ingraffia has studied acting with some of the best in the business, including, Lee Strasberg, Jeff Corey, Milton Katselas, Charles Conrad and Estelle Harmon. His writing instructors have included luminaries Linda Seger, John Truby and William Goldman.Ingraffia's prolific writing credits include episodic television, network pilots, an HBO special and feature films. His award-winning plays have been produced in New York, Los Angeles and in numerous regional theaters across the country and have been published by Samuel French.He has also performed in lead roles as an actor in theaters all across America in regional, summer stock and touring theater productions. The "Los Angeles Times," the "Hollywood Reporter," "LAWeekly" and "Variety" have all heralded Ingraffia's theater work.Ingraffia wrote and produced the highly acclaimed theater production "Starfire." The play ran for four months to sold-out audiences and starred Vanessa Marcil and Tyler Christopher, with Brian Austin Green and Art LaFleur.He wrote, produced and starred in A New Finish (2006), a critically acclaimed Official Selection of the 'Los Angeles International Short Film Festival', 2006.Ingraffia founded his own production company, Little Dog Productions, with partner Doug Burch in 2008. Ingraffia and Burch subsequently wrote, produced and directed six episodes of the hit Internet series "Night Walkers" (KoldcastTV).He also wrote and produced feature films: Atlantis Down (2010), directed by Max Bartoli and starring Michael Rooker and recently completed "Wages of Sin" with Emmy-winning DP Michael Franks.Recent Starring roles in motion pictures include Death and Cremation (2010), with Brad Dourif and Jeremy Sumpter, 12/12/12 (2012) and Blue Telescope. He also just completed Starring roles in two new series: "Shoot to Kill" and 'Mr. Kill.'Over one-hundred film and television performances have afforded Ingraffia the opportunity to work with such acclaimed directors as John Schlesinger, Ron Howard, Mike Newell, Oliver Stone, Delbert Mann and Robert Zemeckis. His film work has included such classics as Wall Street (1987), Used Cars (1980) and The Falcon and the Snowman (1985) (with Sean Penn), among others.When he's not acting, writing, directing or producing projects, Ingraffia spends time in his woodworking shop.
