Glenna is a secondary character is Joe Hill's novel Horns played by Kelli Garner. At this point she is working at a saloon as a hairdresser. While there is some background on Glenna, it is scattered and her character is pieced together through the bits and pieces of her younger character. After Merrin is killed, she and Ig Perrish get together and are living together in the beginning of the story. The morning that Ig wakes up with his new horns, Glenna is the first one who sees them and for some reason, she begins to confess things to Ig that he does not expect about how she really feels and what she thinks and this is the first indication that the horns have their own type of power. She also tells Ig what people say about him and about how he is the one who killed the love of his life Merrin. Ig and Glenna do not love each other and during this time Ig does not see her as important and possibly a throw way woman regarding relationships..Though Ig pities her and Lee feels contempt for he, she does prove to be a good friend to Ig telling him that she knows she is not good enough for him and that she knows what people think of her, even though she is nice to people even those who put her down. This could also be a way to still find the acceptance and love she craved as a younger girl but on an adult level. Even though she may have not been an idea person throughout the story, you cannot help but like her and feel for her and may care about her.She shares her house with Ig who she thinks destroyed her house and she becomes concerned and looks for him. She finds him at the old hangout and it is at that time that Ig feels mercy for her realizing that she needs to choose better people to be with and tells her so and tells her that she does have worth and to stay away from people who use her or take advantage of her and to do something that will make her happy, one of which is to move from their town to start over again. These words make her think a lot and inspires her to leave and start a new life. Lee, at least in the novel, wants to kill her because Ig does begin to care about her as a worthy human being. It is also presumed throughout the book that she does believe in Ig's innocents and stands by him as a friend and is a true friend to Ig.The last part of the novel is when after everything happens, Ig's brother Terry goes back to where it all began to be surprised to see Glenna drive up to say goodbye. She brings lunch with her and she and Terry share it and talk. Both are going to New York, Terry to find a better job and Glenna to start life over. In the novel, Terry is glad to see her and looks at her in a different light thinking she is quite pretty if not beautiful as she is described as could have been a model for plus size women. They agree to meet up in New York and there is an indication that a relationship will grow between the two of them at a later date.Glenna is an interesting character because she is a very nice person who has made her share of mistakes and from this experience with Ig finally realizes that she is better than she thinks herself to be. She is a very caring person and does not seem to judge people. The end of the novel ends on a positive note for Glenna and Terry. Show less «
