Jessa Johansson

Twenty-four-year-old Jessa Johansson (Jemina Kirke) is a free spirit who has returned to New York after travelling the world. The British born Jessa is Shoshanna's cousin and is best friends with Marnie and Hannah. She attended Oberlin College. Impulsive, she is known for making rash decisions about both her career and her love life. Jenna is beautiful and confident and can make her friends feel bad about their boring lives without even meaning to. She doesn't really care about what people think of her and, personality wise, she is the polar opposite of Hannah. But while it seems that her Bohemian lifestyle lets her just go where life takes her, Jessa is reluctant to grow up and truly begin an adult life. She has no permanent resident and often crashes at a friend's apartment. She lives her life with no rules but then must face the consequences of her impulsive actions. Jessa doesn't have a Facebook account, won't check her voice mail, and is always late. She grew up wealthy and doesn't necessarily see the benefit of having a job you have to go to every day.
