We live through this series of great comedies that speak of the daily life (or rather, at night) of four vampires who have lived on an island for a long time. These comedies tell about the four vampires who have lived together for more than 100 years on Staten Island and who are doing many strange behaviors that are quite different from ordinary vampires everywhere.
These continuing plots either need to be woven in more deftly and thoroughly or discarded; arguably, the show seems like it wants to be more serialized than it's allowed to be in these early episodes.
What We Do in the Shadows is one of those conceptual comedies with a limited premise that you expect to die off at any moment, but it keeps coming as though it doesn't know how to die.
I do not know if it's as good as the movie... What I do know is that Shadows, the series, is funny -- often deadpan, sometimes quietly droll, sometimes howl-at-the-moon hilarious.
